Whenever there is a flame that is burning in a home or anywhere else for that matter there is the chance that a build up of carbon monoxide will result. Carbon monoxide is the by product of the flame and as most people understand it is also the part that is most dangerous. The problem is that a flame will burn as long as there is oxygen to make it so. Fire needs fuel and oxygen is the main fuel along with the gas in the many gas appliances in a home. The detectors are very easy to install and look very much like a smoke alarm. In most cases there is nothing more than a small battery and the unit can be hooked up to the wall or ceiling without any problems. You should take the time to check the function of the battery at least once a month and if there is a problem then simply replace the battery and test the unit again.
